I want to write a review here as I read so many different and confusing opinions about these speakers repeatedly.
A friend of mine was looking for good and cheap speakers. After a long search, we decided to monitor Supreme 200.
About me: I studied sound engineering and also worked as a sound engineer. Privately, I also produce music.
So I have to deal every day with speakers and wanted to clean up here once with a few "myths"!
First I want to say that these speakers really for the price is very good
(Of course, no comparison to listening in the studio, but I'm talking about in this review just for this price range)
He seems relatively natural and you can not hear any strong overemphasis in a certain frequency range.
For the size, it has a lot of bass acceptable. When "Bass Monster" but I would not call him, as do some here.
(On the other hand, I have, as I said, normally do only with very high-quality speakers that I was growing draw for comparison.)
However, I must also say that these different statements regarding the bass level probably can be traced back in the room to the positioning of the speakers. When a speaker is right next to a wall that can already increase the sound pressure in the bass range by 3 dB. When he stands in a corner can again up to 3dB happen. When the speakers are close together (
The speaker has a surprisingly good transient response and also transients are very good.
Overall, the sound is homogeneous and has a pretty high resolution and linear.
At first I found the highs slightly too intrusive in the 8kHz area. After enough hours of use, but this has improved somewhat. I have also read comments that claim the speakers like high level not so much. I can not agree. I have a matching (somewhat weaker than specified RMS power) AMP connected and sometimes turned up neatly. I could not drag, rattle or other hearing disorders. So they use more than enough level for a normal living room.
I personally have the speaker then something Eq'ed (equalized). A slight bass boost at about 50Hz, a quite wide-ranging raising centers. In the above 8kHz I have something pulled out and turned it something purely at 16 and 20 kHz. Now sounds the speaker rich / powerful and a little dizzy, but the centers have suffered. (The settings from the EQ but are probably more influenced by the room as by the loudspeaker itself - not that it reconstructs and someone wonders why's may not sound better;))
Traderjob that 38.000hz indicated are bullshit. I tried it once with a test tone. From 14-15khz the level already falls quite strong. So maybe they are playing to 38,000 Hz, but then probably at -80dB.
All in all I would recommend to everyone of these speakers do not (much) has more budget. Here really makes you nothing wrong.
These are the best speakers I know, where I can say that listening to music is fun (you do not know me, but I'm very picky;))
Just buy it !!!!!
