Price tune performance, buy recommendation

We have the printer now about 10 months. The device immediately fascinated me: faster, quieter and detail faithful scanner, copy without a computer in color and SW. Clean and fast paper prints. Photo's look great, but will need to pressure more time (other printers also). Cartridges are available individually with reasonable capacity and inexpensive for replacement (at my local dealer for 5 per cartridge !!!). The only thing that bothers me is that the Brother permanently remains on the network and thus draws current and consumed. But that will required for the printer to perform its cleaning routine as required and on each startup. Friends were also excited and have bought the device and in use, and are also satisfied.

So now we have July 2009. My conclusion: still a great device with printing costs manageable. I need about every 10 months a new set of cartridges. The scanner does its job still great and the copier well. So if there would be this part still, I would buy it when needed again.
