I bought the HRK 8750 CI + not for the living room, there is a Philips 55 PFL 4908 K 3D, 140 cm, which had all the programs incl. The more than 40 HD channels found immediately.
No, I need him occupationally in my study for an older Samsung flat screen which not have its own DVB-C receiver has. So far, he hung on a Humax iPRD 9800 C (device from Premiere-times), but gave up the ghost.
So the old Humax was, he had all the channels found HD channels except for technical reasons. They're for my work but not relevant, there's also still the living room ...
The processing of XORO is Topp, installation and menu navigation of the device are really well thought out and easy to do. For this, I would also give 5 stars.
However, it turned out that the HRK 8750 CI + of the more than 100 channels offered (+ 46 HD channels) of our cable TV residential community house plant (provider PrimaCom) only 56 "finding" could. Even a multiple factory setting reset and reinstall or - search did not alter this fact.
Order of frequency and symbol rate via manual search of also free to air channels such as Pro 7 Maxx, Sport1, Tele 5, etc. only one - also zero positive results brought the rather tedious entry - which I do not even want to take on the time-consuming Internet search Some examples mentioned.
One might think that the shielded from poor antenna performance and not enough, perhaps too long, inexpensive antenna cables would be. Then the Philips would have also had problems with the tuning certainly.
But this is not the case, the house is two years old, has one of the latest-art facility that is regularly maintained and updated, with min. 100db high screened Kabenl, including systems-signal amplifier. The
TV / Radio-cans in the apartment are also the latest technology level.
And inside the apartment, we use high quality cable Direct Pro Series Antenna Cable, which have no more than two meters in length (to TV box).
The initial installation of Xoro HRK 8750 CI + I made up in the living room, connecting via HDMI. The channel search itself went pretty fast from equip, duration less than 4 minutes. 56 channels were found. FREE HD channels (ARD, ZDF, ARTE ...) he found none. This did not change after further tests.
Positive here is that the picture quality via HDMI is excellent and also via scart on old Samsung flat screen was much better than expected. How might then looks at tube sets, I sadly can not say.
The HRK 8750 CI + also PRV Recording should be possible, but does not also work for me with an unused Western Digital WD My Passport 500 GB, because they simply could not be responsive. Although me the appropriate setup menu item is displayed. But the WD neither read be formatted in FAT32 required standard, or otherwise integrate somehow, it was not indicated by name. Formatting on a PC using the tools "FAT32 Formatter", then also did not help.
Now there is something in the manual by a maximum of 320 GB, so I's about a 2 year old external 2.5 "Samsung tried with 250GB and USB 2.0, and that did not work.
Now I do not want to generalize, maybe I just used the wrong hard disks that but. On the other hand, I could find no corresponding brand instructions in the manual. Whether that is now up to the USB 2.0 port of HRK 8750 CI +, who could not do anything with a standard USB 3.0 WD My Passport or Samsung generally do not like, I therefore can not judge well.
All in all I have to say, unfortunately, that the XORO HRK has not fulfilled 8750 CI + my expectations and I therefore sent him back again to Amazon. Pity, because the unit is really well thought out, visually appealing and also does not take up much space ...
Of course, interested me as a layman, why this does not work with us with this receiver. By PrimaCom was told that one of the reasons could be the fact because there are by digitizing multiple transmitters on a channel very close to each other and may therefore be not recognized by the XORO or recorded separately. Now I wonder, however, as a technically obsolete Humax receiver has managed that ....
The Council: "They buy a DVB-C compatible smaller flat for office," I will now follow well but, sometimes saving money is perhaps not the right idea ... ;-)
