There is now also a few weeks ago that I've owned the device, but I want to share my experience anyway.
First impression / The External:
- Looks very classy, acting as a unified whole
- Meticulously crafted, nothing creaks or squeaks
- Weight similar to other smarties this class, rather light
- Not too thick and too large, can be comfortable carry in pocket or shirt pocket.
- Camera makes good pictures
- Very good speaker
- Call quality absolutely superb on both sides
For Windows Phone 8:
I have a few years ago an iPhone obsessed (still 3.x iOS times), I liked the absolute connection to iTunes & Co does not, therefore, later switching to Android, this one has just about everything to freedom what you want / need or not.
Switching to Windows Phone not struck me really hard. The system looks tidy and stable on the first impression. The Nokia Lumia 925 comes with innately lot of apps, anything you can find in the store - okay, one or the other app junkie like and will look different, I would have totally cope on my part. Matter of opinion.
The arrangement of the tiles can be a much more game - and design room has, I liked.
What struck me negatively:
- After about two days of continuous operation without rebooting suddenly stood "SIM PIN" in the display and of course no power was there. Had the first held for a "trouser pockets reboot", but this was apparently not so for another two days later the same message appeared again. Cause: unknown, I did not like that at all, because I do not know how long stopped this state of inaccessibility.
But it got even harder:
On the third day I had the device restart. Some apps could not be started or started very slowly and hackelig. After reboot, everything went smoothly again. Cause me here unknown, this situation also occurred just this once.
Possibly the two events described due to a Monday device or a bug in the OS which already been fixed by an update that is my part now but purely speculative.
I would like to mention that not let z. B. with Whatsapp of friends / contacts received videos simply x-customized post. I did not succeed, I needed real-time to the Dateiene ever find on the device. Just as I have read a few forums, this is a consequence of the "clutter" OS or the tidy user interface: It has been in Windows Phone just not quite the freedoms like the Android - it provides a WP also not so many questions "what it should make wmoit ".
That too is a matter of opinion whether you need it or just not, I missed because some things, but I will not go into details.
A few more words about the battery:
As with almost every Smartie is announced open daily, one comes with a fully charged device but loose on the evening, but it depends also on the personal settings and the settings of apps from.
All in all, I come to a streaky judgment, for me personally, definitely not the right smartphone.
But who is looking for a solid Windows Phone, with clean lines, good voice quality and good camera for snapshots and in Apps and - currently still - can do without the flexibility of the OS on little things and is willing to join without prejudice to Windows Phone engage determined well served here.
I think that Windows Phone definitely has a good potential, it is indeed improved, as I look forward to the future.
For App - junkies and hardliners and people who applies anyway have difficulties with other operating systems other than Android and iOS in my opinion: rather stay away, because the time is not yet ripe.
Therefore, there's me 3 stars.
