1) The display surface of the camera must be absolutely clean, especially any fat to be removed, otherwise the adhesion is not working.
As my D800 is relatively new and I've always used the protective plastic, that was no problem. In an older camera must be thoroughly cleaned in accordance with (and under a lamp controlled). The supplied humidity cloth I did not use, but it will probably serve you well here.
2) Remove the lens, so the camera body just resting and blowing off the display glass surface + then paint of with a lens brush. This should all visible particles are removed (also check this by lamp). Then quickly continue working and always check for new particles.
3) use of gloves (latex or similar) is useful in order to avoid contamination of the protector-glass by subcutaneous fat on the edges
4) removal of the "Adhesion" film (red tab) and tilted attaching the protector glass on the long side of the display. There in the D800 is a bead, the very easy to do that. An incorrect positioning is hardly possible.
5) Gentle depositing of the glass on the display surface and the rest goes by itself. The glass drawn immediately bubbles fixed on the display surface. I did not think that this is going so smoothly.
6) the lightest touch on the surface of the glass to the edge (possibly with edge of a credit card, etc.).
For me it was hardly necessary. It was only at the very edge of the display a couple of very small bubbles, which could be overcome so without any problems.
7) Cautious (ie slow) withdrawing the dust film from the top of the glass
8) Same procedure for small-function display
The glass is perfect, you do not notice its presence, and it is very easy to clean thanks to its super-smooth surface. The price is absolutely justified, the production of such thin and optically perfect Glasplattem is not trivial.
To remove the glass protector-I can not say anything yet.
