I then decided for the combination sleeve and protective film.
The protective cover is surprisingly soft and rubbery (silicone), but looks classy in "spanned" state. It extends to the screen and depresses my (somewhat too large and upstanding at an edge) protector.
Even the silver edge of Nexus7 is covered by the protective cover, which is why the Nexus "all-black" is displayed (I really like).
Beats are well damped and scratches uä the Nexus kept - even lying down with the screen facing down is now no (mental) problem more.
That the protective cover on the longitudinal edges does not rest so tightly (like many other reviewers complain) is absolutely correct and does not interfere. The edge of the Nexus is not visible (unless you push the sleeve away on purpose).
The protective cover has cut-outs for on / off button and volume buttons (additional protection), the speaker, the USB port, the audio connector and the microphone.
The SIM card slot is NOT left out - ie a SIM card change (does not come as often as before) the protective cover has to be removed.
In combination with the protective film this sleeve is perfect and relatively cheap.
PS: By the way, I have installed to protect the on / off switch, the small app "Screen Off", which enables the Nexus to touch pressure in the sleep mode. Thus, the actual switch should be pressed only to turn.
