My joy at this plate tarnishes ...
... The volume. The plate is described as being particularly friendly gamer and should really be very very quiet. However, it is not. During operation, you can clearly hear a faint hiss / loops that sounds almost like a fan (but only since the installation of the drive is present => It's no fan). I mean, I'm not a fanatic volume, my fans are a lot more audible, and I like that even. It just gives me to think that my old Seagate, except for the rattle, have the old drive as per se, has given no such grinding noise, but in idle mode simply was inaudible. Even my WD drive is now in my new (!) Already come to meet after just 2 days operation a slight rattle when booting. How is that time in 5 years, when the now begins the rattle ??
This was a clear reason for a star deduction for me.
... The speed. Clearly, the speed of a hard drive rises and falls with the weakest link. I originally had my Seagate with SATA (SATA only), hanging on a SATAII port via an appropriate SATA cable. Now I hang my WD Black with SATAIII through the same cable at the same port. A speed difference does not exist. That is, there can be a maximum of the cable, which I will review times. Or the system itself, however, which is freshly defragmented and everything. Sign up again when I know more details.
But all in all, makes the WD Black a really solid and good impression, so I would definitely recommend it. Should you have any complications, I'll update this post here.
