Pump quickly broken - needs descaling

I bought the fountain end of May 2013 since our cat kidney problems were found and he should drink more. He has tried only after about 1 month and then used him every now and then the fountain. Cleaning is easy and quick. The volume was fine during the day, but you can not sleep with the hum. Unfortunately, the power supply is directly quite hot and the pump is no longer since the end of July 2013. Those are pretty much 2 months, which has survived these wells. Conclusion: Actually not a bad fountain that served its purpose, at least as long as it works (which was not long in my case).

Because our water is really very calcareous, I put the pump in water in which I have resolved the Entkalkungszeug for tea and inserted the plug. After some time, the pump actually ran again. However, it is unclear how the plastic will respond to the frequent descaling. Unfortunately, I still do not know exactly what to do with the impeller (according to Wikipedia "a of a ring-shaped or tubular housing enclosed propeller"), because I would have to disassemble the pump for this purpose so only once. And what is a suitable lubricant for a propeller in a cat drinking fountain? Possibly problems will therefore still arise.
Because of the hot-werdendem PSU I dazwischengehängt a timer. He now runs ever for an hour for the time being and then has an hour break.
