Who bought a pen with 14-42 mm, is often quickly miss a telephoto lens. The cheapest option for the Pen is again clearly überarnbeitete 40-150 mm. The version does as opposed to short available previous version a more solid impression and the lens also provides significantly faster sharply to the new Pen cameras. I usually do not expect much from a cheap kit zoom constructed - dqoch Olympus dominates its optical qualities, already at full aperture, there are in definition and brilliance and vignetting is not much to criticize. For daily use, it is certainly not intended, respect it is sensitive to rain and dust. The zoom ring is not working really smooth and precise - who has worked with expensive telephoto zooms, will perhaps be frightened here. The lack of a sun visor is a serious shortage. The kit is very inexpensive, individually, I would never buy it. I think it's ultimately less exciting and would the kit zooms always the 14-150 mm MFT prefer only some would be too expensive.
I find the Panasonic 4.0-5.6 / 45-200 mm is mechanically better choice only it is characterized at 150-200 mm softer and slightly less sharp and it attracts external dust like crazy. But it is more solid and is sold with sun visor and provides an image section to 400 mm KB!
Hopefully Olympus pleases us soon with a stable 4.0 / 40-200 mm ... for a fixed, continuous light intensity is always beneficial.
