I have a label printer but it leaves me ribbons, and I type the letters chosen directly on the keys of the machine. This is completely different. It must be used with a computer because there is no keyboard. It's just a printer "pocket" so to speak. The installation was very easy step. The manual is clear and software works perfectly. Your computer will have to have a CD player. Maybe is it possible to find the setup software on the site, I have not checked. When installing the roll, careful not to reverse the direction of the coil otherwise the cover will not close. On the software, simply choose the label size, font and size of the write and then write the text. It's weird at first, the first letter takes almost all the space and each letter added decreases the text size. The print request only a second and it is possible to store your text. Editing is perfectly clean. The machine comes with 3 rolls of different sizes. the only small complaint I can make is that there is no indication on the packaging of these rolls. So I measure the labels to know what size I inserted. This machine is connected to the mains, so no batteries to worry, and the cord (2 parts) is relatively long. This is a good product that gives a result of professional quality
