The speed is really impressive and suggests similar panels by Toshiba to loose 10-15%.
The often criticized loudness I can not understand - the drive is virtually inaudible. I can only imagine that here some testers have the plate placed extremely unfavorable or the first models were actually a bit noisy - but then that has changed thoroughly.
The case itself seems sturdy and the pattern even noble. Positive noticed is my softly glowing LED that never flickers nervously.
By strong rubber feet, the board is very stable and is decoupled simultaneously.
Are there any negative aspects? Yes, the software.
Unlike previous versions, although it runs stable and can be activated free of charge for 3 computers on the Pro.Version, but then comes the disenchantment:
Is the drive connected to a network, it can not be used for backups, but only when it is connected directly. This is of course great crap. Of course, WD plans to sell its network drives, but in a Pro version should work without restriction.
Here, I give no penalty, because can be realized with a freeware solution and the remaining tools work.
If someone makes the decision to purchase but the software dependent, I would advise him to check the exact hardware dependencies accurately. Who is the software sausage, I can drive but highly recommended.
