After that is running Windows 7 (64bit) a "USB Server" ready over which the devices can be provided to the respective computers available and also can be equal Shortcut with specific applications as soon as the respective device has been enabled via the Lanport; which is very convenient for my scanner, so also the software I used to open the same for creating and editing the scans.
I have tested the LANPort with my elderly HP scanner and an external USB hard drive. Both devices are recognized einfwandfrei.
In short, the LANPort works well, is easy to use and does what I expected. But there's 5 star.
I prefer a star off because there is no Setting up or fixing options. The (always) bulky Ethernet cable, the power cable and up to four USB cables which is a very wobbly affair. I'll probably stick it with double-sided tape in addition to my Ethernet switch (hanging on screws under the table top).
