A comparison with a (much cheaper and yet, for example: in pictures much nicer scanned) flatbed scanner is unnecessary, since these are completely different applications, a document scanner you need only if you want to achieve a paperless office, or want to always scan all important documents (to avoid having to cancel otherwise.
Benefits:
-Direct Scanning on stick (without a computer)
-Right low
-Practical build (but same as most side scanner)
Software and drivers for Win8
Disadvantages:
-Not very quickly
-loud
-dünnes paper makes sometimes problems (much more often than with Fujitsu)
Software is ok but no more than that
In short, quite a good cheap scanner for Windows 8 suited. The best device if you want to quickly archive once something even though the computer is off (for example: the daily mail).
I have finally decided because of the price, the drivers for Win8 and mainly because the offline scanning of the mail at home as 2nd unit.
For comparison, I would, for example: a Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 look (which I have in my practice for several years without any problems in the application), the Canon scanners make a good impression - but never tested it I did.
