The ergonomics are good, but required me some acclimatization. The culprit is the left side, was in trying well to find a compromise between Claw-Grip and palm grip. It is strongly "dented", what also works very well for the Claw-Grip. In Palm Grip I can not really hang my thumb, however due to the dent. The two side buttons are designed so that you can press diagonally from bottom left to top right angle. Laterally they offer only a small area and are difficult to meet, which in turn favors the Claw-Grip. With practice, it all goes even in the Palm Grip, felt for me but first unaccustomed to.
The right side, however, is extremely great. It is interchangeable and has thereby selectively supports for one or two fingers. I use the 2-finger rest and wanted after 5 minutes nothing else.
The two main buttons are also super successful. You have about half a millimeter game, which you can feel the pressure point very well and can keep your fingers under tension. It also prevents you already clicking triggers by "laying on of hands".
The mouse wheel is by far the best I have ever had on a mouse. I was skeptical because of the tilt function (scroll sideways), which is not necessarily advantageous for a gaming mouse. When smog but it's never happened to me that I have caused a wrong click. The pressure points and the Scroll resistance feel perfect. According to it is not.
But the mouse's greatest strength, the ceramic feet. These have really made a sensational sliding properties. On my worn plastic mouse pad I could not use the mouse, as it is slipped away me, and I myself could hit anything with a low dpi. I've never seen before. I have therefore bought a textile pad from the same manufacturer. Now it fits perfectly, not only by the sliding resistance, but also visually for Space design of the mouse.
Due to the outstanding sliding properties, this is also the first mouse in which to make the attached weights really noticeable sense. They increase the sliding resistance somewhat, and there they sit in the middle, they do so evenly. My S2 had the weights back and was thus "hecklastig", which is why I have taken out the weights there.
The design, however, has not really blew me away. I almost therefore taken the SteelSeries Xai, whose simple design I like better. The smog has a "pulsating lights". Well, if you like it .. Mäusekino in the truest sense of the word.
The criticized in the other review Piano lacquer finish for me was the way one of the main reasons _für_ buying. From the feel of it is neither better nor worse than other materials, but it has the advantage that it is virtually immune to wear and not filthy. My S2 has also this piano black finish and looks after 5 years still almost like new. Always after a few months Logitech mice had with me on the other hand already worn bruises that look really disgusting.
A few words about the technology. The smog is equipped with the most modern sensor, however, provides only a very small internal memory for macros, which also is still volatile. This means that the mouse is holding her condition only until the power is off. The previous status is then established via the software the next time Windows is started. The macro and profile function is therefore depending on the software.
For Linux users, the one that always is the smog in the "delivery state" means. The Mode button is on Linux (not available profiles) has no function and the mouse flashes always ugly turquoise. All other buttons work properly, but are not easily umbelegbar.
Everywhere is usable, however the lift button, with which you can adjust the height up to which the mouse is still scanning. This is interesting for low-dpi players who the mouse often "lifts" must.
I listen to now, the text is anyway far too long (it incredible what you can write about a mouse ...).
As a conclusion:
On the positive side are precision, processing, ceramic feet and the resulting expected stop and resilience.
Negative I would like to highlight anything, the design is taste, the ergonomics habituation thing. The lack of state memory you do not see necessarily a bad thing, because all the mice that had him have caused problems under Linux with me. In addition, the Ozone Smog in return is also a bit cheaper than the serious competitor.
Anyone who is looking for a gaming mouse should watch this one absolutely times. To me she is, because of my previous impression, worth 5 stars.
