But I will focus on three points: the dual pairing, active noise reduction and Bluetooth in the quality of the music.
The headset can connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. In other words, in the train for example, you can connect your tablet to watch a movie while remaining connected to your phone to receive calls.
Noise reduction is effective, but not total. However, no helmet completely reduced noise, even the famous Bose QC25. I tried for 40 minutes in the store and I have lost nothing of the conversation with the seller QC 25 on the ears. Like Bose, the Plantronics greatly reduces serious noises (like the hubbub of a train or a bus) but only mitigates the voice. So it is very efficient in transit and relatively efficient in offices.
The transmission of music through Bluetooth can degrade audio quality. The website 01net it devoted an article "Why the sound is not the same as Bluetooth and wired." To summarize, it is a question of speed and compression. I unfortunately found with my car radio: the sound is much better than USB Bluetooth. But none of that with this Backbeat Pro helmet! To the ear, the sound quality is as good as wired Bluetooth that (at least with my "old" Galaxy S2).
The Plantronics headset is a success. It's nice to see a product so well thought of (and well built and more). If like me you have very hesitant to choose a helmet with active noise reduction, treat yourself to this Backbeat Pro. Try it and adopt it!
