The awning is made of a synthetic fabric and surprisingly light. We had therefore first the fear that it might not hold. A vulnerability in solar sailing is probably (we have read - and is also logical) the place where the power has to be dissipated at the ends with the suspension. Here the awning me but makes a very strong impression. It's neatly folded throughout its edges and stitched very strong. Thus, the edges form a stable "framework" in which the sail fabric is stretched.
When hanging the low weight has then considered as positive, because the forces on the individual hooks by the low weight are correspondingly lower than if a heavier load would hang. In order to tension the sail I had with the whole body force "tension", here has given me the impression of stable material, the first confirmed times.
After a day we had to re-tension the sail. It is recommended mitzubestellen the matching Befestigungssset. The attached cable tensioner that has been done quickly. After the 3rd day no retightening was necessary. We assume that the material has now stretched to the final measure. Until now, the solar sail "all weathers" has been exposed: From sun up storm (we live "on the mountain"). The sail has been through it all and survived without damage.
Optical sees this (Kunststoffgeflecht-) Awning not so classy as models made of fabric, the costs but then also 10 times. For this "optical disadvantage" but I hope a long resistance to mold and / or verdigris, since the woven material has a fairly smooth surface.
It is worth mentioning that sailing the light does not "block out" but "abdimmt" because still comes through a balance of sun. However, it has always held in the hot midday sun so much that we with the whole family had a pleasant shade under the sail. Through the tissue that water can not collect puddles so that the sail should not be pressed down unnecessarily in the middle and also wear out.
Considering the price in my opinion after a Topkauf!
Addendum after 1 year use:
-----------------------------
We're still super happy with it! Had the sail collapsed in the autumn after a dry weekend and stored in the garage. Now hängts already in the 2nd season. I'm still amazed that it still looks like new: No stains, no verdigris and no Gammel- or mold quirks despite quite wet and foggy "Mittelgebiergsklima" ...!
