So, backpack I have now since 2 weeks and am equal flown to San Francisco. Had to take the piece a Nikon D7000, Sigma 70-200 2.8, Sigma 18-50 2.8 (both with attachment), a standard Nikon lens (I think was 18-110 or so), an iPad and a 13-inch laptop plus power / Charging Krams. Has no problems all fit in and even books and other Reisekrams. Overall, a good piece was certainly too heavy for's hand luggage, but since he still looks relatively narrow, I was so not controlled. But I would not try it in classic charter flights .... The build quality is great, the hip and chest strap both take great load off your shoulders and despite laptop compartment on the back, I could move well. The various post ion with side sling and so you can really use a full load does not want to really try. For air travel and city tours, there should be enough but :-) What I miss the perfect backpack is a continuous, watertight "tub" like the swimming backpacks. It is visually indicated, but not really available. In wet soil may need to be worried about the equipment have, but at the price that's yet to get over. The rain cover is, however, not fixed to the backpack. Can you lose so well ... of course not happen to me ;-) If I have all the equipment (ok, then flash and wide angle) there is really enough space, but then you have the support frame problems because despite hip and chest strap for the great weight the necessary ventilation missing = to get sweat quickly into. There is not really designed the limited ventilation system usually for sweaty back. That's what I eg Deuter backpacks. seen better solved. Presumably, the "Sling" position is then the problem that is then very difficult to implement. The straps are adjustable and anyway only marginally with my 1.89's just not how it works. But really tear lines so, I do not want. It also lacks a bottle holder for water etc. (is commonly encountered in camera backpacks problem, not drinking photographers?), But could be an upgrade in the belt of Tatonka. Overall, I would lack variety (I still have not found with all features) to buy the backpack again. If I discover a times but which satisfies my missing features, I'm going. Cheers!
UPDATE, April 7, 2012 More by chance I found an interesting alternative of Jack Wolfskin. A little less space, but definitely the better carrying frame and also quite inexpensive. If the ACS Photo Pack, which is for "around 100 Euros" traded. I got it (yet), but the frame makes it very interesting. [...]
UPDATE, April 26, in 2012 (Supplement to comment) The waist strap is well padded, fully comparable with other backpacks. The shoulder straps are unfortunately (btw I've still no other photo backpack with the feature seen) NOT adjustable in height. By that I mean that (the "suspension" quasi) backpack is not adjustable the approach. As a result, depending on torso length of the chest strap migelieferte (highly recommended) must be put in a position to schnürrt otherwise the neck from. But by the chest strap catches possibly. To slip, which imo is not quite as bad. I would imagine that is not necessarily the ideal solution is the backpack from 190 and above.
