The Elgato EyeTV Mobile TV tuner, however, is a one-time investment that pays for itself in relation to the cost of service Zattoo in the first year.
The picture is very clear, the sound properly, the reception good. I can in any room already with the small built-in antenna look flawless TV and through several walls throughout (though I live quite close to the DVBT transmitter)
Advantages:
* Good picture and good sound
* Timeshift
* Recording function
* Virtually no time delay from a TV with Freeview receiver
* Fast switching times (less than 2 sec)
* Excellent teletext, EPG
Disadvantages:
* BLOCKED the charging port
* Mirroring to Apple TV possible but very choppy
The DVB-T receiver blocks the dock connector. Because charging the Apple device is no longer as possible, the battery sucks very quickly empty. The EyeTV itself requires this little power, is also not warm. But the display of the IOS device itself of course requires a lot of energy. So you can always look a few hours of TV, then have to invite a few hours again. The application is therefore very limited. More than one in between solution provides it so not represent, but those in good quality.
With the included rod antenna increases the reception performance. So for example, a signal is also in the car at speeds below to receive about 80kmh, but only close to the transmitter.
CONCLUSION: Good quality for occasional use
Through the good reception and the extensive software, the device is to quickly mobile to look at times a show or movie. For longer TV evenings, the construction is not suitable, because you can not simultaneously watch TV and provide its IOS device with power. that's a shame. Elgato should perhaps consider an adapter plug.
