I myself have tested similar programs such as Art Rage 4, Pixxara TwistedBrush Pro Studio (version 18) and Project Dogwaffle Artist 9.2, Autodesk SketchBook Pro and I find none of the programs is so much fun as the program Corel (which I say, although I Corel'm generally critical of).
One notices that Corel has invested years of development time. For me, everything seems all of a piece,
which does not mean that one is - must incorporate only - - no but I find even that does incorporate fun and the time you should take as well.
Fast growing desire for more, so I bought a Wacom PTH-651-DEIT in size "M" (my first graphics tablet), certainly a little Bamboo would have gone but I did not save in the wrong here.
The leap onto the graphics tablet is gigantic - how could I paint only with mouse beforehand?
From the technical side, I must say that the program uses all the PC will bear.
The brush to use with ease all 4 CPU cores simultaneously.
I had previously tested the demo for Corel Painter 12 (the immediate predecessor).
Since I had actually quickly a crash - that's not so far happened to me with X3.
Therefore one can say Corel has since really reworked (or it was only on the demo).
Who still has no idea what you can exactly do with the Corel Painter x3 so I can only recommend the YT videos of Aaron Rutten.
My Conclusion:
That is what Photoshop for photo editing, Corel Painter X3 is for paint and draw!
PS: As a parent, it can be assumed discussions who is allowed to paint next ;-)
