So these two lamps of Mr. Beams came into the house. The brand I did not know before, but they seemed to be just right for our purposes, they work with batteries and therefore require no electricity or special orientation angle facing the sun as the solar lights. The three C batteries required (Baby / LR14) are not included.
The lights can be stuck well into the flower bed or in front of a hedge on the earth rods with screws / wall plugs but also wall mounting is possible. Design Technically I find them now not quite as successful, but by the black-brown body (camouflage mud) they do not immediately catch the eye. A I have put before our big boxwood because it is hardly noticeable.
The plastic housing is waterproof and they give off a pleasant light but not very bright (20 lumens). On the product photo that looks much brighter than it really is. To illuminate a path, the earth spikes must extend already right next to it, otherwise there is not much brightness.
The motion detector reacts reliably and the batteries should keep long time (lt. Manufacturer specifications for approximately 1 year, probably applies this information when the motion only occasionally short kicks and not for the duration of functions).
There is only an English manual here, but which is well illustrated and commissioning is easy. The housing is sealed with 2 large screws, which can easily be opened with a fingernail. There are several settings inside the casing possible so that the light od after 20. 60 seconds off. Means the sensor lights switch on automatically in the dark when the Glow-mode is activated. If it is not active, they react only on the motion.
For me, Mr. Beams-way lights are a very good alternative to solar lamps, easy to install and everywhere applicable, where light, sun and power connections are missing.
