To save electricity, I have installed my 12V halogen recessed ceiling luminaires replaced 230 Volt LED spotlight. Since I had with the new system no experience, I bought the first copies in the local hardware store. For connection to the electricity grid requires a GU10-ceramic socket for each emitter. These are available eg here at Amazon for 50 cents to 1 euro per piece in a pack of ten. At the hardware store, I had to pay for each individual ceramic socket 6,95 EUR! Unfortunately, there was at the hardware store for no alternative. Even when buying I was suspicious of how to block the two thin, 20 cm long lead wires in the wooden ceiling, without provoking a fire hazard. Then I found in the Amazon built into the plastic case ceramic versions of Trango Brilon. I was completely convinced by the long article of reviewers Catweasle which fully confirmed my fears because of fire hazard. So I replaced the expensive but uncertain DIY versions against the relatively cheap security versions of Trango Brilon and bought on Amazon. The Trango Brilon version does what it should. However, the built-luster terminal is a weak point. You can see the two cables of the supply line is very difficult to squeeze into the terminal block in and screws. Better two twos Wago-terminals would have been here, the place also were present. The Schrauberei with the tiny Befestigungsschräubchen overhead on the cable that hangs from the ceiling, is not a pleasure. You have to unscrew not only the wires into the terminal block in this position, yes, but also two small screws for the strain relief (the sensible black rubber Mannschette to protect the cable repeatedly slipping out of the recess in the plastic housing), and two other little screw to Fasten the lid to the plastic case. With the result, the price and fast delivery, I am satisfied with the fumbling not. Therefore only 3 stars.
