Although not all Philips products branded "Philips" produces itself, is placed by the Dutch huge emphasis on design, quality and a good price / performance ratio. That's why I also like to buy such devices to the Philips logo.
The AZ1 Sound Machine offers features more than I actually need:
40 W power
Microphone and guitar input (I do not)
Bluetooth and NFC (NFC I also do not need)
CD, MP3-CD
FM radio
USB docking station for playback / shop
After unpacking and plugging performed an auto-installation of FM radio stations. I was pleased about the very good radio reception. Unlike my existing FM radio (by others) I can listen to the radio without interference with the AZ1. It has RDS with title display in the compatible transmitters.
Even without the equalizer adjustment AZ1 delivers a rich sound and is perfect for larger spaces and to the party because of its sound 40-watt amplifier.
If a new CD is inserted, automatically starts playback. It is controlled via the buttons on the top panel.
The main purpose is to me, however, to play music via Bluetooth connection that can be made by NFC or simply carried out on the well-known coupling.
Now for housing:
Critically for me is always the chic piano black finish. Fingerprints on the black surface can not be avoided unfortunately. For me this is not so great and probably more detrimental when frequent transport.
Cool gimmick for me: on the top there is a depression in which the antenna is located. Here you can take a tablet or smartphone before retracting the antenna. The integrated USB port you can not only play music but also charge a mobile device.
