I had a lot of pb with usb adapters / Chinese series that were blue screens under Windows 8.1 (such ATEN U232A or clone) has related bug in the driver under windows (driver very poorly updated).
FTDI chipset with no worries of this sort, the drivers are stable and regularly updated (in addition they are signed by windows) so more bp. C is their basic profession to make gateways usb / serial
ca worth putting a few dollars more for not banging crash in the middle of a network appliance config in console mode.
the chipset is a real ftdi, VCP drivers (virtual com port) is RECOVER directly on the ftdi website, s installed without bp in w7 or w8.1 and operate immediately (think execute install the driver as an administrator)
I will recommend mass and throw my dongles ATEN in the trash
buy without hesitation
