The absolute no-go for me, unfortunately, resulted in the absolute strangeness and distance of family among themselves. The actors have really not manage to portray a family and were mutually so strange that one has noticed it formally. She was actually the root on which the whole film has to build! * Spoilers: * The woman is somewhere in a belfry, the brightly burning all the time and the man looks as he fights - a long felt half an hour - again and again to her, without finally but to go to her times. Just as the tower burns it is 10min dead for good. She is his wife damned! Then something else and he simply turns off, se can burn it, sort of. His parents are killed before his eyes, but he distorts no expression, not even one last look as he walks out of the house. His son is dead. Ok. His son is dead. He is the shit. His wife is gone. Is not so great. Is he therefore somehow particularly limited, broken, on the ground or other?
No.
He's just a bit frustrated and a little angry. No trace of real grief. And, although he had just one son has buried.
That was the reason why I've identified.
* Spoilers end. *
