Why I ordered the Asus Transformer Pad TF700T?
At the time of order was the Asus Transformer Pad TF700T with one of the most powerful on the market (I do not know what it looks like now). This was one of the reasons for purchase in any case. I wanted -das- best Android Tablet what I could get.
I am a student and so the Tastaturdock offered for two reasons: Extended battery life and Mitt ribs in lectures.
1) A mixture of emotions: from the date of delivery to the date on which it went back to Amazon:
As the tablet arrived, I was naturally excited! At first glance, a good processing of tablet and keyboard:
The engagement of the tablets in the dock worked right away. This keyboard has a good stop. However, the negative side were the keys for volume up / down and out on the tablet itself. These give no good tactile feedback, but click only slightly to pressure. Hard to describe, it felt at least not to so wertig as it should.
In the following days, I installed the update to JellyBean and was surprised with an annoying error: When a white screen (eg the Internet) dive sporadically horizontal black lines briefly! After a short research I found that many people have this problem and that these lines only occur from JellyBean. So it was: Either live with the lines, or downgrade back to IceCreamSandwich. Some may be the now for a little excessive, but gnawing at me this error but very. A tablet in this price range can not afford something like that in my opinion. In addition, fails to submit the time, so in a period of about 4 (!!) months there was no remedy by Asus.
After the first month that bothered me then, as the Transformer Infinity is in the hands. The edges of the tablets are somewhat 'sharp' and boring after some time in the palms. Furthermore, you can easily press the screen at the edge so that it slightly under sinks (a few millimeters).
In addition, the tablet just will not go a long time run smoothly. After a time it has repeatedly here and there stuttering in the user interface that spoil the user experience. I've really tried to on Custom Roms every conceivable workaround to eradicate this, but nothing helped.
All this let my frustration on the Tablet of times grow times. In direct comparison with the Nexus 10 from my friend the Nexus 10 just ran much smoother and was much better in the hand.
Then, two weeks ago, began to make matters worse, to go to break the display! When brushing the display there were streaks below the screen. I handed it. I sent the tablet back to Amazon and got very accommodating refund the purchase price.
Advantages and disadvantages of the Asus Transformer Infinity:
Advantages:
- Practical Tastaturdock with battery, which significantly increases the runtime
- Keyboard has a good stop
- SD card reader in the keyboard
- Latching well implemented
- USB port on the keyboard, to which one can connect mice
- 64 GB Memory (much more you really need not)
- Even otherwise solid se Android tablet ....
Disadvantages:
- ... If not the occasional stuttering in the surface would (there are users who say that this would CustomRom resolved but Here I must point out that a certain technical knowledge is required and will void the warranty.)
- From JellyBean Horizontal lines appear sporadically on the screen (Again, I have heard from some who could make the lines disappear with workarounds, or could reduce the frequency I could only achieve the latter, but many felt also that they would be lines.. do not interfere with or they would have noticed not only)
- Display is easy to push (feels MMN not really wertig thereby to)
- Volume buttons do not have good tactile feedback
- Vibration when moving Apps or keyboard strokes only half-heartedly. It felt almost as if the vibration motor in the tablet broken. However, the vibration at the start of the Tablets worked flawlessly
It really is hard for me to make a recommendation based on this tablet on my experiences. I have now ordered a Nexus 10 and am much happier with this than I ever was with my Transformer Ininity.
Who does not guarantee a violation shy, or may ignore at about stuttering and my contra points, gets an otherwise really good tablet with Tastaturdock.
