After I had bought a LED TV and a sound bar from Samsung (both F-series), I looked around me sometimes for a Blu-ray player from the F-series and came across the Samsung BD-F5100 Blu-ray Player ,
Since I have no interest in Internet applications, 3D, etc., I set my attention primarily to the entry-level class where I've been using the BD-F5100 and for me perfectly successful device is found and already able to test extensively.
The device works thanks to the "initial setting wizard" quickly and easily. Subsequent changes can be made at any time of course, the well-structured menu.
The picture quality feel I stand in comparison with my previous Blu-ray players (not Samsung device) as well. All image enhancement settings of my new LED TVs, which were capitalized in connection with my "old" player, I could now turn off for the same or better image quality.
Information on volume of the player or drive:
Yes ..... There are drive noise present, but these are currently not louder than other players also. So not disturbing and not a reason for complaint or deduction of points in this review.
The supplied remote control has a good tactile feedback and also offers the possibility of the Samsung TV on or off, adjust the volume and the source (source) of the TV unit to change.
The four touch buttons (On - Off / Eject / Play - Pause / Stop), at the top of the unit respond very well and quickly to a touch.
However, the Samsung BD-F5100 has no display and no standby LED ..... However, the On / Off sensor button on top of the device is in use white lights (in standby mode not lit).
The player is fast and also invites Blu-ray films such as Avatar and Terminator 4 in a surprising speed.
Since I have no need for networking, I have this not yet fully tested. However, it is possible in the "Home - Menu" to access other devices, which are located on the same network and stream movies, pictures and / or music (corresponding approvals vorrausgesetzt).
Conclusion: For alljene which are looking for a player with no frills, can dispense with 3D and place only to the "basic functions" such as movies or digital photos look value, I can certainly make a recommendation.
I give 5 stars for this Blu-ray player that has convinced me fully.
