Well, with just under a kilo which is now 24-70 yes no extreme case, but at the almost equally heavy 5D II just harder to bear / carry. The weight was remarkable for me, but not as a particular disadvantage. Ever very elderly EF L lens already has the yes now no surprise - everything is diverse read about it. Otherwise, the appearance made me in the early days only joy! I like going to so, focus and zoom sit immediately intuitive and both are set accurately and fluently. No pfriemelige fumbling, but rapid, targeted movements - great source of joy! But the greatest joy made me their reliable imaging sharpness! The suits! Even the fast AF sits right away. My first sharpness tests: mouse, cat and dog fur and Kanarienfedern and smallest crumbs on Schnabel Curling always immense fun of viewing and pointing! The advantages of large initial aperture I need not explain here their limits either. In focal length range of 40-50mm to the finest image details sit at f / 5.6-8, to 70mm I am then also pleased to switch to the 70-200er. The wide-angle has me in spite of the slight distortion with its fine image quality surprised - overall a great lens for me with very harmonious background blur! Just a pity that I got it only now.
