1. higher speed (my MacBook has two USB 3.0 jacks)
2. lower power consumption and
3. (course) data security through reliability of the data carrier.
Unfortunately, expectations were disappointed. In terms of speed the old USB 2.0 harddisk was superior to USB 3.0 Stick far. When I moved 110 GB in 90,000 files from the computer to the drive, I had to for my MacBook running overnight (!). So there I was able to bury the idea of saving electricity. And when I finally bought a 1TB USB3.0 hard drive to replace the disabled drive, and wanted to move the said 110 GB of data from the stick to the new hard drive, as data transmission broke after two hours (!) Agonizingly slow reading eventually wear out because the source disk temporarily ceased its service. The memory stick had become so hot that he apparently was close to meltdown. So much for "reliability".
Unfortunately, I was too busy with other things, to withdraw from the contract on time and return the scrap. Although Verbatim with a lifetime warranty, but is limited to an exchange, and I do not think I would benefit. So I write from the 45 Euro; with such scrap I can not do anything anyway.
