Writing Amanda Hocking is simple, fresh and enjoyable. The style is sometimes clumsy (probably due to the self-publishing), but this did not spoil my reading pleasure. "From my blood" is a title of Bit Young adult bed. Even young readers will be able to read it without problem.
Let's get to the story ... The first chapters I could not help but think of Twilight, as certain passages are alike. This is not the trouble I gave examples because if you read the Twilight, you will immediately see the similarities times in this book. I find it a shame, because it gives the impression of lacking personality ...
BUT (yes, because there is a but!) When Alice met Jack's family, and his brother Peter, the story completely over! We find ourselves immersed in a world of vampires certainly, but with a different vision. Let me explain:
Blood and body react Alice's brother Jack (Peter) as it is meant to him. Her desire for him then consumes it does not even know it ... This could look like a thunderbolt, but it is not shared by Peter. And then Alice realizes she's in love with Jack and that`s mutual. How will they get out of this impasse? This very tricky situation, makes the plot of Amanda Hocking very interesting. I literally devoured the second part of the book!
In short, I find it unfortunate similarities with aeuvre Stephenie Meyer's early in the book. Nevertheless, I took great pleasure to read "From my blood," and I'll throw myself on the action as soon as it comes out, that's for sure!
