you can both monitor 1 and 2 PC's use or even 2 monitors and 1 PC.
Both directions work!

Also, the audio signal is looped through.
(I have connected a PC and a Androidplayer the ausgiebt via HDMI sound.
Player -> Cable HDMI to DVI -> DVI Switcher -> cable from DVI to HDMI -> TV)

Unrestricted recommendation !!! TOP unit.
Switching is done mechanically but I did not see it as a disadvantage.

I would buy the switch again.
