The phone should reasonably handy, all LTE frequencies in Germany support (800, 1800, 2600MHz) and to be even more inexpensive.
I have quite a few phones even looked at me or just information on device (LG G2 Mini, Motorola E2, Huawei Y550, Alcatel Idol2 Mini, Mini Doogee F1) until I finally became aware of the Vodafone Smart 4G. The Smart 4G is sold new for about 65 and is thus almost exactly at the half the price of the aforementioned devices. Unfortunately, you can hardly find reviews for Smart 4G, so it was something the famous department of pig in a poke.
But so much can be revealed before: The Smart 4G is worth every penny!
When Vodafone Smart 4G is a Coolpad 8860U of Yuolong that was provided with Vodafone branding. The Smart 4G can also be used with any network operator (MicroSIM). I use it for example with O2. The Smart 4G ships with Android 4.2.2. An update to a newer version, it will not give. I find that with Android 4.2 well, since there were with Android 4.3 / 4.4 from time to time problems with the use of SD cards / are.
Fortunately, up to an app all Vodafone offerings remove, so that approximately 6.5 GB can be used for Apps from the 8GB memory of the Smart 4G. It is positive that the memory is not divided into a storage area for Apps and range for data, as unfortunately is the case in many other smartphones.
I have installed a 32 GB microSD card in addition. In the storage configuration, the Smart 4G can be adjusted so that the SD card is used as a standard memory. So the apps store your data automatically on the SD card (eg photos / videos of the camera or downloaded maps of Navi app).
The display of Smart 4G is 4.5 tall and triggers with 960x540 px on (qHD). It is sufficiently bright and responsiveness to inputs is very good despite himself glued screen protector from the accessory trade. The working speed is completely sufficient despite a dual-core CPU with 1.2 GHz. In their daily work, I feel no difference to my previous smartphone (I am from a Quad Core Smartphone switched).
I use the Smart 4G course as telephone and otherwise primarily for email (Exchange Push), WhatsApp, a navigation system for car / motorcycle (Sygic app) and as a portable Wi-Fi point for my tablet or laptop. Everything works fine. Games I do not use.
I especially would like to emphasize that the Smart 4G has both a compass and a notification LED. This is often found not even in smartphones for 200!
The camera of Smart 4G is so-so. The quality is sufficient at least for occasional snapshots. But honestly looks at the other smart phones 100-120 better !?
After all, a picture-light is even available, so that the Smart 4G can be used sometimes as a flashlight. It was striking to me that the camera images are still quite large (about 4 MB per image). So far I have found no way to influence the compression of JPGs. For other smartphones I had previously, you could see the compression of JPGs influence (eg coarse, normal, fine, very fine). The front camera is sufficient for video telephony from (Skype).
With a single charge, I come from 1-2 days. Thus, the Smart 4G is no worse / better than my previous smartphone.
Oh, that Smart 4G also supports NFC. I really used the not yet.
Now we come to the only negative point for me. Unfortunately the Smart 4G has no FM radio. I always found it convenient to be able to eg Campen sometimes listen to FM radio.
Conclusion: I am absolutely surprised and delighted with the Smart 4G. For 65 it is likely currently give not a smartphone with a better price / performance ratio. Who is looking for a relatively compact LTE smartphone and want to play any 3D action games on the smartphone should even raise any case an eye on the Vodafone Smart 4G!
