My personal opinion is: Super! The book manages to keep the balance between new content, exercises, grammar explanations and cultural information (especially important in my view! In Japanese). My motivation has thus not yet subsided :)
The idea of replacing the Romaji syllables gradually by the respective Hiragana symbols is not only creative but also surprisingly effective (Yay, sense of achievement)! Although the example sentences are often simple, but not this textbook-typical "so simple that no one would use in the real world" -simpel. Personally, I find it especially good that often both the grammatically correct form, as well as the common / colloquial form are called. For virtually all sets can be found the English translations, the English way, is easy to understand, even in the grammar parts.
I could understand if someone who is very grammar understanding or very to speak out, with the book alone can not do much, but since you're not actually comes around in Japanese-learning killed Hiragana learning and some standard phrases I would use a recommend buying this book anyway ...
In addition to the book you can online at YesJapan.com incidentally again go through the whole, loosened with videos and small puzzles content and listen to almost all the words and phrases used! There would then theoretically Stern Nr. 6 give ;-)
