After the first 750 slides I can only praise the unit. Right handy and compact, it fits comfortably alongside the notebook. I use exclusively the IntelliScan mode, booting automatically Fastscan at power. When setting has "Art Print" proven, delivering at an aspect ratio of approximately 20x30 full sharpness. The total duration for a slide is with pre-scan, setting the framework and image type and quadruple scan less than 5 minutes. Scratches and dust are reliably detected and eliminated.
Somewhat more difficult for me turned out to be the use of fast scan. The pre-scan provides warm colors, the full scan lets the colors but seem a lot colder. After prolonged Try I use certain preferences in the individual colors, such as blue weaker, more red, green warmer. In addition, you have to experiment with the type of image at each image slightly. Standard often provides a blue tint, usually I switch between lights engraving and gold tones to make the colors warmer.
These scan settings can then be subsequently final corrections very well attach with Adobe Photoshop.
Conclusion: A very good device, but at Fastscan you should be prepared for a longer period of "trial and error" and therefore does not just begin with the most valuable slides.
