First you load the internal battery via a mini-USB jack. For NAS functionality is a micro SD slot available. Here I have plugged a 16 GB Sandisk card for the tests. Next, the small box even an Ethernet port, a USB port, three status LEDs, a reset and an on / off button.
To turn on (with WiFi), press the button until the blue LED lights. The default password is printed in the manual. As IP range you do not like at home routers usually a 192.168.XXX.XXX but 10.10.10.XXX.
Now you can log in to the config page of the mini-router. This has initially no password by default. After logging in you will be asked how you want the Internet. Here you can now choose between wireless and cable. I opted for WLAN. Compared to my PC very few WLANs have been found.
Then you will then take the wireless settings and you will be prompted to enter a new password. In contrast to the short manual, the setting page can be selected also in German.
The Micro-SD is displayed as disk1, a USB-connected hard disk as hard disk 2. Here FAT / FAT32 and NTFS partitions are recognized. My Linux partitions were not detected on the external hard drive. Since the built-in battery has only 3000 mAh, but you should not connect any power-hungry hard disks, otherwise it's just a short pleasure.
The drives are accessible via the Explorer or via the built-in Web client. The data transfer rates that can be achieved here, lay in my tests between 1.5-2.5 MB / s. Maybe it does purely also that Internet and computer connection go each over WLAN. The wireless connection is established with me with 54 Mbit / s. Supports 2.4GHz with 11b / g / n.
As far as for the use with the PC. It is really interesting, considering the app installed to do so. About Here you can by phone / tablet then easily transfer photos to the NAS or watch from the NAS. Streaming music and video (not tested) is also possible. It is beautiful here, that the manufacturer on its website a detailed guide has adjusted (in English) to the app. A newer firmware is also available. Unfortunately, however, is still missing information, which should be improved by the new firmware. Therefore you have to perform all settings previously made to an update again.
Conclusion:
Small all-rounder, which is next to the Power Bank function even a little practical NAS for data swap or mobile / tablet suitable short term empty of images. Whether you want to stream music / videos, is the question, since this little battery is a bit tight, unless you do not operate on battery power, but then you could also run a larger NAS. A switch / router you can even treat yourself to a fast Wi-Fi access. However, this then because the battery only for about 5-6 hours.
