At least operate all technical features: the autofocus works well with my model, also the automatic mode. All different picture situations were properly recognized and quickly.
You have to try really hard that to make blurred images, the advertised IS system is a great thing.
The operation requires a little familiarization, otherwise everything is very clear, you can not even make a smooth lay here much wrong.
Big advantages are the low weight and compact size, the camera disappears in every pocket.
Now for image quality: a total work the technique, as mentioned above, excellent. Unfortunately Average mark lenses were installed in already simple magnifying fall on fringing, in "Wide" mode, the screen edges are visible distorted. Pure When shooting in the dark, the colors are a bit pale despite lightning.
The videos are tidy, the image stabilization works fine.
There is an external battery charger, a big plus. The instructions might be a little more detail, the Internet can be found luckily enough more information.
Conclusion: based on the above criticisms I see the camera rather than use camera. Anyone looking for a simple camera for the work that quickly and accurately the technique by itself sets in every situation, always delivers sharp images, is easy, and yet brings enough battery power, this is the place. Here the Ixus also works with a WiFi card (Toshiba Flash Air), a lack of WLAN interface can thus be avoided. Also I would send the pubescent teenager with the Ixus 150 in the holiday. But for better pictures, it is worthwhile to put some more money on the table, at least for the price range, the Ixus is but perfectly OK.
Addendum: the Ixus is at the moment my Always-In Camera, in addition to the smartphone (Galaxy S3, with very good camera). I'm out a lot with dogs, and can not carry around heavy equipment. The Ixus is the partner for the smartphone camera, if need be times zoom, or the lighting conditions are somewhat unfavorable. When taking pictures, it is indeed often a matter at all to have a camera with me. And for this requirement fits the Ixus perfect.
Because here criticism has emerged, because of the processing: yes, all plastic. But here nothing rattles, and after all, the whole sculpture is indeed an advantage when it comes to the weight. And because the Ixus is really lightweight, and so small that they "runs along" beside the smartphone simply in the other pocket. There may be better cameras with better processing and better image quality. If I but then let this home because of the heavier weight, it profits me nothing.
