Small but perfectly formed - ideal for beginners

When you hold the little Casio Exilim EX-N1 for the first time in hand, you can initially only times admiring the pretty design of Casio. The EX-N1 is small but absolutely fine.
The design of the camera is a timeless beauty, the look of the piano Casio is a real eye-catcher.
The camera is so small that it fits into the smallest handbag, in a shirt pocket quite loose. It is a typical pocket camera.
Due to the low price it is particularly suitable for beginners, for children and adolescents or for someone who wants to always have a camera with me simply.
The Casio is favorable, but in no way affects cheap and makes also still amazingly good shots.
The feel of the Casio like it very much. They can operate well with one hand, since it has a very low weight and all major controls are accessible with one hand.

A small button on the top right, you can make very beautiful wide-angle shots or use the 5x zoom. You can record short videos, but are only good with a push button, unless you zoom during filming. When zooming the video very quickly blurred and one relatively quickly lose the desire to make videos.

For testing, I have the Casio finely adjusted to 10MP (3648x2736) with quality, since I was not enthusiastic about the shooting with 16M. This setting is intended for A3 prints.
With this setting, I was very pleased, the recordings have convinced me of the small Casio.

The Casio offers a clear menu structure, to which beginners or children can get used to very quickly.
As you know it from Casio ago already, the EX-N1 offers the Best Shot function, with which you can adjust all the 26 scene modes. Even including the mode You tube and voice recordings. Whether you can use all modes, everyone must decide for themselves individually.
Reliable recordings makes the Casio mode Night Scene, Portrait, Landscape, in the mode for children or animals moving subjects.

The Casio offers the automatic mode and the in my opinion better automatic mode Premium Auto. The images are compared with the normal automatic mode friendlier and warmer. Especially indoors under artificial light effect in automatic mode cold and sober. In Premium Auto mode, the images seem warm and not artificial.
Landscapes in Premium Auto mode also convinced me. Whether now in the sunshine or dim light, the shots look natural and not artificial. The colors are rich and warm.
Wide shots turn out well with the Casio.
However, once you want to pick up a subject with zoom, the images are slightly blurred and are not to be used.
The falls on especially if the light conditions when shooting outdoors are poor. In bright sunshine succeed good shots, even when you use the 5x zoom.
One can from a camera in this price range but do not expect miracles. That is clear.

But what you can do well with the small Casio, are macro shots. At about 8-10 cm close makes the Casio very good macro shots. I had the little camera not have expected.

Conclusion: The Casio Exilim EX-N1 is a good affordable camera for beginners or children, you can always take account of their size as well. One can not expect miracles in the price range.
Hold for the holidays or major events with the camera, but it is not suitable. Here you should take up a better camera, which then of course costs a little more.
