SOUND
The Mad Catz FREQTE stereo headset is distinguished by a clear sound, but which lacks fullness. Also, the surround sound is just mediocre, even with a sound card. Particularly weak is the bass. Where the connections are, the sound is felt stronger, perhaps because the ear sits at this point closer to the head. Our previous Headset from Creative provides soundwise more, however, was also significantly more expensive.
EQUIPMENT
At the headset to mute button, call answer button are for Smartphone and volume control. These functions are a bit awkward to find with your fingers when wearing the headset.
The headset can only be connected with an auxiliary cable. Directly on the headset, however, has a mini-USB port (NO Micro USB). Included in the delivery are mini-USB to Mini USB and Aux Aux Splitter. Normal Aux cables are therefore not usable.
HEADPHONES
The headset has comfortable large ear cups. The ear picks up a little at the front of the ear and feels loose. Also a total of headphones sits a little slippery.
MICROPHONE
The microphone is detachable and can be bent in all directions, which is very helpful. It filters background noise out quite well. Sounds such as keyboard Click hear the interlocutor anyway. The closer the microphone close to your mouth, the better the sound, too far from the mouth of the sound is not so hot.
PROCESSING
The processing of the headset is mostly good. Only at the junctions between the pinna and strap it looks rather cheap. The black, matt parts on the other hand feel really well made and also look good.
CONCLUSION
In direct comparison with our high end Creative headset the FREQTE cuts off a bit weak, especially the sound. After a while you get used to it, however. Overall, it is of good use for gaming and even after a prolonged period of not uncomfortable, except for the small defects in the ear Muschen. But these nervous even at the beginning. For the price ok.
