I use now because of information in various forums (Geocaching, game hunting) batteries instead of batteries (Note: According to the manual operation is permitted only with batteries!). Here one must be careful that the batteries are not fully discharged, otherwise they are no longer reusable. The lamp has namely no discharge. If the light is so weak, then immediately replace the batteries. I have therefore always with the pack with the original batteries as replacements. (Use of batteries of course at your own risk!)
The smooth manual zoom, I feel just by walking through woods, meadows and footpaths to be very pleasant.
