Since I'm generally very much with my browser, I had no problem with it, switch on the entire Google.
Test, I have, however, tried before a week to come only with the Chrome browser on the day (with my old unit). For this I have in any application that I would have otherwise used outside of Chrome attempts to find an appropriate equivalent in the Chrome store and to work with it.
This whole action also had the advantage that, when I set up the CB, all my apps and settings from the work of the previous week were taken over.
I hereby had no problems in accomplishing everyday tasks, I have now decided to try the CB with Chrome OS.
(If someone makes the decision easier: There's also the ability to install on the CB parallel Ubuntu (12:04), and then switch between the operating systems of a button, but if you here lose the guarantee, I do not know and they should. this definitely informed in advance!)
The first impression when unpacking is very good, the device acts quality than one might expect for this price.
The first in-the-hand take-CB is the pleasantly light (~ 1.5 kg) and due to the size of 13.3 "(exactly the same size as the MacBook Air! It is also only minimally thicker than the Air (Air : 3mm-17mm, Acer CB 13: 18mm through)) and not too big.
The surface is smooth and the outside made of plastic, the inside is slightly roughened, which is very pleasant when you let your hands rest on the CB.
The delivery was next to the CB and the charging cable (unfortunately quite clunky compared to the CB (but commonly seen still quite small) nor a "Quick Start Guide" for Chrome OS, since it has some differences from Windows and Mac ( For those who do not know yet: Chrome OS is a Linux anabolic, centered on the Chrome browser OS) and an instruction to "Traveller Warranty" from Acer (= "travel guarantee" when traveling abroad, including the CB)..
The keystroke is short, hard and soft, pleasant for prolific writer so. F-keys, there is no, the keyboard is very similar to the Windows keyboard, there is the series of numbers simple function buttons (forward / back, Refresh, Maximize, View All windows, raise / lower, Silent / Quiet / Loud and Off / off switch). A Caps Lock key does not exist, only a "Search" button, then the "Windows Symbol Pendant" opens in which all installed apps and some intrinsic things (hard disk, settings etc) are listed. A number pad there is also not, but this is due to the size of the entire CB. (For the rest of the keys of a pleasant size and are easy to reach.)
In the first test of Tegra K1 works pretty fast, and several open tabs incl. A 1080p stream on Youtube and a running stream on Spotify prepare the CB no problems. As it is under full load, I can not say yet.
The CB was launched very quickly, it was loaded from the factory with me exactly 75%.
The setting was fast out of hand, it was quickly synchronized with my apps (thanks to my week preparatory work for the time being should be sufficient for all that is necessary) and everything was ready in no time. Even my bookmarks, notes and my saved on the other device passwords were present. Since these are indeed stored in my account and not locally on the device, it is easily possible to synchronize the whole. Just as easily it when someone wants to login to a private, furnished Account to another CB, with him, it is then just as quickly and easily is.
Chrome OS is for me so far not an obstacle, it is just very browser-centered, but that I have no problem.
For the Chrome OS can be found on Youtube a few ideas, reviews or tips & tricks, that's why I'm here not elaborate one.
My battery is currently still at 69% and I are still 11: 59h predicted. I find that a peak! (WLAN, brightness at minimum)
Allen, reflecting on a CB, I advise: concerns they have, that they adopt from them familiar programs from Windows and Mac and upgrade to the apps of Chrome. For this, you can apply my method and a week testhalber "survive" only with the Chrome browser and the Chrome apps.
If they notice this week that (just to mention a couple of times Big names) are indispensable for programs such as Photoshop, Sony Vegas, Magix, the CB is not for them. Because it can be installed any programs, it really only work the Chrome apps. (Unless you install Linux in parallel)
If you, however, this week will have no problems, they will also use the CB have their joy.
I'll keep the CB, it tells me far too much. If still should change something or I test it in long-term operation can, it will also give updates here! (Original from 09/20/2014)
Thank you for taking the time to read this review.

UPDATE 09/22/2014
Property me already well accustomed to the idiosyncrasies of Chromebooks (especially what concerns the touchpad), and am pleased with the differences from Windows.
Examples:
- Right mouse button is replaced by tapping with 2 fingers on the touchpad.
- Back comes with a mop to the left with 2 fingers.
Property me also give the Chromebook held to your ear, because I did not want to believe that it really is so quiet.
Result:
You do hear everything. Everything except the Chromebook, which is really absolutely silent.
UPDATE 09/25/2014
Had just the first misfire of Chromebooks. While a stream on the website bitshare the Chromebook has hung or it reacted only seriously delayed. The problem could resolve itself, as I have just closed the tab with the Stream. When I loaded the stream again, everything went smoothly, I have no idea what was the trigger for the dropouts.
More updates will follow :-)
