The camera is very small and easy to conceal in a strong man's hand. The case shines through the brushed black metal bit dull, which I like very well. By the rough surface can be seen no fingerprints on the housing.
The case is actually more or less identical to that of the WX50 that I bought a few months ago. Only on the lens can be seen (by the longer focal length) tiny differences.
Haptics / Format
For large hands, it is almost a challenge to hold the camera really well because it is so small flat. The WX200 is 3mm lower and about 3mm wider than a credit card. Thus, it really fits in any pocket and can take it everywhere. As the saying goes: the most beautiful picture is the one that was actually done.
Delivery / operating instructions
The camera comes a charging cable, which is also the same used for transmitting the data to the computer. A, real charger is not included. This can interfere, but to me it does not really matter because I already refuel my batteries through an external universal charger. A printed manual in about 18 languages is also included. The indivuduell German part is limited to the 34 pages on the rudimentary settings and yard long safety instructions etc., which is very normal in this day and age. There is also a quick start guide for setting up the WLAN, which I unfortunately initially overlooked. Some time would have saved me if I had seen this same. Software is not there. Current (for loading images via wireless) is available for download on the Support page at sony.de. The electronic manual in * .pdf There are also on the website of Sony and is easy to find. Again, however, there are only 34 pages.
Equipment
The camera comes with the now familiar from the WX-series nine image effects, therefore, with me rich monochrome still like best. There are 15 scene modes - incl. HDR (which works very well). A mode for creating background blur is also on board. This should produce a Schärfenuntiefe á la SLR camera. Actually works quite well as long as you stick to the proposed removal. Here some practice is necessary - but it works well then not always. If they do, the effect is really great though.
In addition, there are several wireless modes. First I got a thick neck because I was afraid I could not get it on your Mac as my pictures at Samsung. But go yet (!) Sony has therefore apparently not so much against Apple.
The camera can be controlled by the production of an own wireless network by the camera from the (in my case) iPhone. Here, the app not only limited on triggering and flash settings, it can even be zoomed. Super.
The photos can then be transmitted in real breakneck speed via WLAN to your own computer, or even to the iPhone also -what goes very quickly. I was and am surprised. This is set up the network as quickly and easily has me downright enthusiastic. The transmission of images was also made as soon I find awesome.
Note, however, that when using the wireless mode of the battery pretty quickly empty.
A 10x optical zoom on a camera on the dimensions of a credit card is already a board. We are talking about a zoom range of 25-250mm - a few years ago unthinkable.
The display has me at 460,000 pixels, which is still okay.
The camera with a 1 2/3 Image sensor 18.2 MP dissolves is nonsense that should have now spread. Less would be more but I am convinced that the manufacturer will one day comprehend or better sensors build that as well to cope with this volume of data and avoid the known difficulties (fast high noise).
The look begins with the light intensity by the way, unlike, for example, in the WX50 only at f 3.3 and ends at min. 5.9.

Image Quality
The price for this is that the picture quality is just fine. Especially with full zoom, the image quality suffers then already in non-ideal lighting conditions yet.
In good weather, the photos, however, good to very good. I said goodbye to the pixel count, since then I have never printed in recent years Posters and inclined buyers will probably not do so. To enlarge image sections are abundant reserves available.
The automatic modes are incidentally usually correct. So it's good to get over that it virtually no manual intervention.
Conclusion
For what is offered, I find the current EIA fit. Particularly with regard to the facilities with Wi-Fi and the 10x optical zoom, the camera has a lot to offer. The number of scene modes is indeed manageable, but, there is only one animal mode - Other manufacturers have felt for each livestock your own scene. In addition, the modes function Hand-held Twilight (multiple images are combined into one) and HDR very good.
I find the WX200 great. My WX50 and with me still residing WX1 be sent into retirement.
Those looking for a small camera with smart features and great value Zoom sets and at home has WiFi and can have a smartphone here access courageously.
PS: I am not here really adulation. However, this camera has really won me over. So take me not bad ...
