So far as I recall, there were 5 different models from SAECO (actually the premium models ever) that I had in lively use. I never counted it, but 15 to 25 cups to go with us loose on the day by a machine. Was general and I am satisfied with all models of Saeco. The one or the other weakness they all have. And that all fully automatic machines do not make coffee as good Italian restaurant around the corner should be clear.
I must confess I was a bit skeptical at this rather small, stripped-down version. The HD8862 / 01 Minuto is finally significantly smaller and lighter than the actual Saeco fully automatic. After extensive commissioning of the Minuto I can say that skepticism is clearly unfounded. Despite compared to their brethren fewer features, makes a surprisingly good coffee, and that is what counts.
The basic settings were made quickly, although with me no extensive manual was doing, but merely an illustrated Quick Start Guide. If you already have experience with Saeco vending machines, but that is no problem at all. The individual features I will not go into here, which can be read anywhere.
Some work makes everyday emptying of waste container and drain pan. Both will be removed in a unit forward away. Fits not hell on, running a while already the water from the drain pan. I think that's bad solved and totally impractical.
Also impractical and rather negative I find the water tank. One can take this up to fill it from the tap. As far as no problem. Then fills the one but up to Max position and does not fit in extremely when inserting the water tank, the water sloshes about. With a little luck, the water then runs down to the left side. There are vents in the housing, behind which some sitting at electronics. What happens when a little water is coming through the slots to the electronics, I could even learn another model already. Short circuit on a circuit board, repair expensive very annoying!
The most important thing for me is actually the result / taste. And here scores of small fully automatic absolutely with me. If you have found his attitude and, where the machine has some time (3-5 coffee of their choice), the result of a fully automatic coffee is really great and delicious! That you can manually make a better and firmer milk foam is certainly out of the question. But that can and should generally not be expected from a fully automatic machine.
Small tip among friends Coffee: Who wants to simplify the cleaning of the grounds container should fold a paper kitchen towel and place fits into the empty grounds container. Then this dirty, not so much.
Me as old Saeco hands "I was the instrument in its price class convinced yet here you get for a slightly lower investment a small, scaled-down version of the big, expensive Saeco fully automatic.
