In product research, I came very quickly to the Bose Music monitors, not to say: I found even after prolonged Sucherei simply no competitive alternatives that brought mentioned 3 aspects for my tastes under one roof. Buying I have repented to now several months of intensive use in any single aspect. The dream of a transport Abelen "professional recording studio" including near-field monitor speakers beurteilbarer has become a reality for me and fits in a backpack and a bag. Now you just need a battery-based power supply for the two baby ;-)
One of course is clear: For the price and for a little extra you get sound "better" solutions, only these are then also again significantly larger / heavier. My fixed monitor system (Adam A5X + Sub7) is another sound League, but I must say that the near-field difference is not this is blatant - at least when comparing the Bose Minis with Adams when switched off subwoofer and in low volume. The differences are in highly limited pop / rock music productions naturally noticeable than in more "natural" classical recordings. The Bose initiated by their electronic sound processing for technical reasons soon on their reserves of strength, you want to really listen to loud or extremely dynamic. Yet they fight very bravely and are all good Klangbeurteiler on the go, making all details in sufficient volume audible. Finally, the spatial reproduction of such miniature boxing is (depending on an optimal listening alignment) really impressive. All my requirement I find fulfilled in handy Bose monitor solution. By the way, I use a high-quality RME D / A converter, which is perfectly adaptable to the input sensitivity of Bose monitors. The transducer transmits course doing a lot of "sound quality" in.
The Gnomes work for my taste by their metallic clothes unrivaled quality and "overweight". Bolted housing (Bravo!), No plastic (thank goodness!) And the few controls seem equally unbreakable arranged and executed. The pity is that the offered "silver metallic" would designate execution, to my mind more towards anthracite. Thus, the two honey color really does not fit the Apple aluminum aesthetics. However, this is acceptable. Less beautiful (so star deduction) is at much sophistication combined with fairly high costs then however the fixed audio connection cable for stereo 2 satellite. In order to take the distance between the two monitors to a little over 1 m limit (the connector is unknown to me and therefore not so easily with standard extensions expandable), and secondly a cable break is (at least with regular transport) inevitable sooner or later. Why were not here just standard jacks (mono phone jack or RCA jacks) installed in order to use a separate cable for the connection? In my view, a really completely unnecessary weakness in the otherwise well thought through in detail's overall concept. Nothing is perfect.
The price is steep, but adequate for the unique in my view usability. But a bargain is something else. I recommend these two miracle box pickups to all travelers who want as much sound guidance from as little volume and weight.
