"Geiler is' schon" is without question one of the most brilliant albums of Westlife. What, yet failed unfinished and baked on the predecessor, "Heart of a boxer", is he here succeeded in the best way: the perfect mix of good texts, rocking backbone and hip sounds. The influence of the German New Wave is unmistakable, the 80 foreshadowed - but without those ugly, cold synth sound which should afterwards (even with MMW) come yet. The individual songs are the overall impression about anything after: the title track and "Let us live" are an absolute classic, "The black man" rocks strikingly loud, "News from Hilde" or "Gitti petty" are especially lyrically strong, and "Take Four "is just crazy just pleasant.
Certainly, "peppermint" or "SektoderSelters" may have a higher cult factor - but "Geiler is 'schon' scores so that the album also at the X-th hearing still spreading pure fun. For the last time by the way: in the years after Westlife tried it with more claim, and burned himself while the finger.
