Looking for the best sound I had stayed for some time hanging at beyerdynamic that actually offer a lot for your money (as long as you raise the heights in the EQ). However, at the DTX50 the cable was broken directly on the headphones to less than a year. Since this unfortunately is not a guarantee damage, I wanted to get now a model from another manufacturer.
The following v-moda Vibes were unbearable (just bass, no treble), though the Shure SE110 had very nice highs but definitely too little bass. For lifting by EQ the performance of my ipod was not sufficient. So had to be something new, and after much hesitation, I gave the erkleckliche penny for this listener from.
Initially I was disappointed, they sounded like feet fallen asleep - no bass, no treble. But luckily I had read that you should install these longer time (40-100 h). So I left the listener import a weekend by the CD player.
And what can I say - I'm absolutely delighted with the sound, let go of the things these little wonders. These are the first handset, where I can turn off the EQ good conscience and not miss. Music actually sounding as they should (eg in comparison with the studio monitors that I have at home). The heights are not exaggerated hard ("headache factor"), the bass are more than sufficient, but not at the expense of resolution or dynamic (ie, mids and highs are still perfect to hear). Only cons: the included essays are definitely below average (for the price unforgivable) and the limited "coolness factor", because these things but some survive while wearing.
Brief overview of the strengths and weaknesses:
++ Brilliant sound
+ Replaceable cable (value retention!)
+ Only small cable noise
+ Bass flexibility be increased (from neutral to highly exaggerated)
- Price (though reasonable, but already fierce)
- "Plugs" are bad - these are the first handset, which I can do no good fit with my 'average' ears. Fortunately adjust the latex essays from beyerdynamic.
- Are clearly visible when worn in the ears.
So: who has the money and likes to hear "more sophisticated" music with a lot of dynamics and frequency range (deep bass to crisp highs), you should consider purchasing. Who mainly "a lot of bass" and satisfying sound reproduction wants for there are cheaper alternatives (eg beyerdynamic DTX50). Another tip: the (few) frequency diagrams on the net usually show a "hump" in the bass, which is caused by a high tune the bass response. Against neutral would be the minimum position.
