The headphones from Sony (which are unfortunately no longer available, and also cost 10-14) MDR-E819 or MDR-E818 are a bit rich from the bass and the sound is clearer and better.
But what can you do? ...
The cables are also thinner than that of the Sony headphones - advantage is of course the weight disadvantage presumably longevity - but I can only speculate about it at this time.
Overall, I am satisfied and will buy no other headphones because In-ear is not my thing. On-ear (those with ironing for example) do not.
I already had 25 Sennheiser headphones and the sound liked even less well than those of 9 headphones me.
The Sony 7-9 headphones (Sony MDR-E9LPB) I like sonically significantly less well than the Philips.
In this respect: for me the best current "old-school" in-ears.
