Solid Navi with some room for improvement

I have looked at a number of navigation devices and occupied myself extensively with the selection. My experience with other producers ranged from abysmal to surprisingly accurate and reliable.

The TomTom has been recommended to me personally, it was also winner of the ADAC. About the webshop I bought the card for US, EUR 39.- for download required for TomTom. The price itself is okay for me, but one may expect for a reliable map. The download and Regestrierung of Navis made quickly and easily.
The destination input works well, however the Go 400 has often difficulties when "looking around" "right down the map" or. We have several times had the problem, although less than 15 miles away, for. This has meant that leads to unnecessary stress, and one drives annoying detours. I had in the US better and more reliable experience made with the competing product, Navigon. Another point of criticism is that the voice does not always coincide with those of the screen. A three-lane highway from San Francisco to Los Angeles, to turn without any possibility of right or left, let alone what to resort to another track made me Navi every minute following statement: "In one mile, stay left, then turn left" - is realtiv sinnfrei when there is neither a turn lane is still a possibility to change lanes, etc.. I asked silently the Navi just before the hour.

What is positive to note is clearly the feel and handling. The unit stands out in my opinion, the Garmin, it is more intuitive to use, and the voice acting is pleasant and clear to understand. Piecemeal is the inclusion of "Live Traffic". I'll probably have to wait in vain for doing a software / firmware update.
The mentioned support is very good, there was no situation in which the navigation system has become detached from the disc. The automatic change of day / night mode works just fine.

In itself, I regret not buying, but I promised a more sophisticated device for the price.
