Solid navigation device with Lifetime Map Updates

I've let the 2595 Christmas giving. Navigon (which now also belongs to the Garmin Group) has disappointed me by the service here, so for me only TomTom and Garmin were shortlisted. The "lifelong" map updates were ultimately the reason for me to opt for the Garmin model. Extrapolating the map updates with other manufacturers with one, there is a significant price advantage for LMT models of Garmin.

This is my Eindruch after two weeks Garmin:

+ Possibility of personalization (eg download of vehicles, recording own voices for the announcement)

- Display could be sharper and resolve higher
- Unfriendly female TTS voice (I was spoiled by my old Becker Navi)
- When speed warning no tolerance can be adjusted.
- Maximum volume could be higher, with loud background noise is difficult to hear the voice

Room for improvement is still enough available, Allerding also available on competitive products are not perfect. I would give the device 4 stars, the fifth star I forgive because of the free map updates. Whether the update will actually be 30 years possible, in my opinion does not matter anyway because hardly anyone has an electrical appliance so long in operation, and it is questionable whether the hardware lasts as long.
