Something designed, but nevertheless very exciting

In "Cross and Burn" manages Val McDermid again, the story of Carol Jordan and Tony Hill weiterzuspinnen and to build on the brilliant how terrible the end of the last volume. Unfortunately annoying that the plot seems rather designed and (again) various parts of the investigator teams are personally involved. Must it be? Otherwise a Page Turner as usual and end up back a bit of hope for Tony and Carol.
