* Sound stage, the player with the accompanying Kopfhörern- *
You have the EQ set properly, a surprisingly dynamic sound emerges. The channel separation is wonderful. Highs are decent and are quasi replaced by upper middle and are therefore somewhat emphatic than treble, and the bass is wonderfully powerful and precise. The bass, the one missing so many players or less perceives sounds warm, very precise and spatially. In silence a minimum noise is perceived that is not audible during playback of music. For classical music listeners, the sound may be too hot and not very detailed in the high frequencies. For rock, pop or hip hop fans the bass is emphasized and wide sound just right.
I also tested the player with a slightly higher quality headphones, the Sennheiser HD 555. Here you could still rausholen beautiful bass. The highs sounded clearer now, but they were still covered by the upper mids. Only the sound was clear, however, still quite warm.
* -Comparison With other MP3 Playern- *
I have the K3 compared the sound of the iAudio U3 from Cowon and Samsung YP T10 of (Brand New Model) (to the Samsung headphones were used). They keep up with neither the space, nor with the very low bass frequencies. These are, according to most tests to excellent Mp3 player. Only in the heights of iAudioU3 seems to be a bit clearer, but overall sounds thinner than the YP-K3.
* -Bedienung- *
The touchpad can be precisely operate. Only there can be accidental pressing of other commands because the pad is quite sensitive. The operation works better here than in the new model YP T10. The surface is unfortunately so smooth that fingerprints are easily recognizable. For this, one should use a matte protective film stick to the player must also be protected from scratches.
* -Menüfühung- *
You can not get lost. There is a choice of music browser, Photo List and system settings. Although these are only partly in English but very easy to understand. The OLED display looks beautiful. However, the animations are not animated liquid. The photo quality is adequate and high level of detail. Photos may be used if desired as a screen saver. Music tracks are automatically sorted by genre, album and artist. The application or reproduction of folders is therefore not supported.
* EQ-Settings *
The player has 10 sound presets and a 7-band equalizer, which allows you to adjust the sound individually (is recommended). There are also bass boost and 3D sound enhancement. For individual tone setting I recommend raising the two high frequencies between +2 and +5. Let the midrange to zero or just below settle. Raise the Bass -5 to 0, as the bass set about 0.
** Conclusion **
For nearly 125, - you get a player who has not only a great design, but a truly good sound (for MP3 players ratios). With extras the YP-K3 can not splurge, so such as the YP-T10, but he has a much better sound (especially in the low frequency range), surpassing even Cowon's iAudio U3 and Apple's iPod Nano. So if you really only puts emphasis on the sound, here is the ideal player.
