"God grant me the serenity to accept the tings I can not change, Courage to change the things I can, and wisdom always to tell the difference." For someone who's not into science fiction or novels was I was absolutely gob struck by Vonnegut's genius. This is not only a book about the atrocious firebombing of Dresden, it's a story about all of us - our past, our present and our future all packaged in the life of the anti-hero Billy Pilgrim who jets through time from one moment to the next and learns from the Tralfamadorians to see life four dimensionally, ie to see life as moments to Which We can return to any time. Vonnegut's book presents a clear anti-war message and therefore a message for each of us earthlings to appreciate the pleasurable moments in our lives so we did have enough to return to once These Moments Which make up our lives are completed. If this is not reason enough to read this book then read it Because it's screamingly funny - Believe It or Not.
